Apple Mac restart problem

Does anybody have any idea what might be wrong with my mums Mac?

This happens regularly and is really annoying :mad:

It's been taken to Apple, but they have ran a diagnostic and said there are no problems.

It's running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and has a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo if that is any help.

Well that's a kernel panic, the equivalent of a Windows blue screen and is pretty rare in the OS X world. It could be either software or hardware related so check the system console for any error messages.

Boot into verbose mode and see what it fails on?

Booted it in verbose mode, but nothing failed. Any other ideas?

You could try backing up with Time Machine and then formatting your HDD.

When you formatted and reinstalled OSX did you try using it for a while with the clean installation, or did you immediately restore your Time Machine backup?

Cheers guys, looks like it's fixed now. Just had to reinstall it for a second time and it hasn't had an error.
