Apple MacBook Pro newbie - Hints and tips

Guys,

I've read all the sticky's and some are out of date.

I'm a 'switcher' and have just bought myself a MacBook Pro. Any hints and tips that I should be doing to protect my MacBook, i.e. antivirus etc that I should be getting?

So far I'm loving it, I've still a PC for games etc but Macs are great!

Thanks for any hints and tips that could help a fellow switcher enjoy the use of his Mac would be greatly appreciated.

Just enjoy it and use it, not much need for arsing about.

Just keep your software bang up to date and avoid Java like the plague. There is some merit to running antivirus software but I don't think we've reached the point on Macs where it's considered a basic requirement.
