an odd error that's started to occur on my wife's IPad 3 -

I've got a domain and given her a mail account on it, on her IPad I entered all the details in for an IMAP mail account and all up and running fine. Its been this way for about 18 months now and no real problems.

Monday evening she presents me her IPad and says email isn't working any more and its giving an error message saying the mail server isn't responding and to check the details in settings to make sure its ok.
Odd, nothings changed....all the settings are correct but now her Ipad refuses to update her email.

On my Ipad I have the same settings for my mail account on the same server and it connects fine.
I've tried re-entering all the details, verified with my host what the settings should be and still get the same message popping up...any suggestions?
 
Date and Time correct on the iPad?
Maybe reset password for the account and see if issue re-occurs.
Erase all content and settings on iPad and re setup.

Not much help I know sorry :(
 
odd...just couldn't get it to take as an IMAP account. In the end just resorted to setting up as a POP account instead...the wife really doesn't care she just want her email to work :)
