How are these monitors for gaming? I think they are fantastic, I have an Imac and its the best monitor I have ever owned, thinking about buying a second for my gaming machine, what are your thoughts?

The Hazro HZ27WC uses the same panel and is nearly a third of the price although as you can tell from the Hazro topic not exactly a guaranteed perfect buy though. Price might make it worthwhile to consider, both it and the Apple cinema display are among the best monitors with that resolution you can get to game on. Just make sure you have the hardware to actually game at that resolution.

Although they both use the same panel (and are both great entertainment monitors) the Apple Cinema Display doesn't use any pixel overdrive. The Hazro HZ27WC does - accelerating grey to grey transitions quite effectively. The result is that the Apple Cinema Display produces fairly significant trailing at times where trailing would be relatively minor on the Hazro. I have tried gaming on the ACD and found it workable but generally wouldn't recommend it compared to, for example, the Hazro. General desktop usage, films and perhaps some light gaming though - great. The OP should probably try to hook up his iMac to the gaming computer as the panel and driving electronics on the display of that are very similar to the ACD.

You learn something every day :)
I knew they kept the ACD very basic but that it does not have pixel overdrive is something I didn't know, a shame since the input lag is pretty low. That an iMac can be used as a monitor is new to me as well, that's a pretty neat feature tbh. Perhaps the OP doesn't even need a new monitor if the machines are located near each other.
