Apple Mouse controlling MBP and iPad Air side by side but screen mirroring NOT on

I have MBP on the left and iPad on the right, my house is connected to the MBP. When i move the mouse off screen on the MBP it then suddenly started moving the cursor on the IPad Air.

I had them set up earlier for the iPad Air to be a 2nd monitor but have since disconnected, they are on the same wifi network....but how on earth does it know it's still next to it. I can click on the iPad's icons with the mouse.

It’s so freaky and cool, even the trackpad on the Magic Keyboard controls the MBP too! It got to the point where I tried to hit the screen on the MBP thinking it had a touch screen lol
