I have parental controls configured on one particular account on the family iMac but the 'limited time per day' is rubbish. It will stop accounts from logging on if the allowed time has elapsed but it won't force the account to log off if the time overruns.

Does anyone know of a suitable product that will do this?

I don't know of any software, but out of curiosity. Do you do it so said infant (wild assumption here unless you're putting your foot down with the wife :D) can say be allowed 1hr of computer time a day kind of thing?

Yeah, there's a maximum limit set per day between certain hours. The specified hours bit works but the daily limit is rubbish. If the person is logged on, they're not forced to log off so it's effectively totally useless.

100% it used to force the machine to log off in SL.
After doing some google-fu it says there's a bug when using 'bedtime' and 'time limits' and you should disable one or the other to get it to work.
Not ideal =/ but at least its a bug so will likely get fixed.

-edit-
All controls work fine on Lion and SL, but are bugged in ML
