It's been released, looks like a backwards step to me. Now you have to plug it in to charge it, it doesn't charge when it's attached to an iPad.

Ahh, it's a replacement to the original pencil, not the pencil 2.

I just want an Apple Pencil compatible with the iPhone.

I'm genuinely interested if there will be an Apple Pencil 4. The Apple Pencil 2 was the main reason I bought my iPad Pro. I haven't used it as much as I thought but it is a very good product if you can manage to use it enough.
