Hey

Not sure why there isn't an all in one list as of yet for apple device 'power' commands, so I though it would be a good idea to create one and maybe make it a sticky for references?

If anyone knows other ones lets get them added!

Commands:
Apple hardware test - Press D during startup
PRAM - Option, Command (⌘), P, and R
SMC - Press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time
Startup list - Press Option during startup
Network boot - Press N during startup
Target boot - Press T during startup
Safe boot - Press Shift during startup
Verbose boot - Press Command-V during startup
Single user - Press Command-S during startup
Recovery mode - Press Command-R during startup

On certain iMacs you can use Target Display Mode (Command + F2, allowing your iMac to be used as an external monitor).

It doesn't work on all iMacs though, it only works on;

27 inch 2009 iMac
27 inch 2010 imac
2011 iMac (both sizes I guess, no mention of specific screen size)
2012 iMac (both sizes I guess, no mention of specific screen size)

and maybe later iMacs, except 5k retina iMac.
