Right, I have just moved over to a macbook and os x and have started to try and use it as a dev machine for all my web based shenannigans. I also have vista on bootcamp for Visual studios work.

Now I love os x as it seems to suffer only a tiny slowdown when using loads of apps however I have found a few problems along the way.

When using ftp I open files using Cyberduck which then uploads them every time I save. This is pretty standard for an ftp client however in windows I use notepad++ which has tabbed windows so you can switch between files quickly and easily.

Is there a good text editor for html, css, js and php that has tabbed windows and syntax highlighting. Basically a mac version of notepad++.

This is annoying me because it feels like I am taking twice as long doing it on the mac compared to windows and it is just this one niggle.

Any mac developers on here, what software do you use and why?

Thanks

TextMate is great as I used that for sometime, but then come along Panic Coda and, in my opinion, whoops TextMate's butt.

I seriously suggest you check out Coda. Its not free, but worth every penny! Its got SVN built in, and if you get Transmit as well (Panic's FTP app) that gets built in too, you never need to leave Coda as it does EVERYTHING, love it :)

I use TextMate, bought it ages ago when the exchange rate was decent. Great bit of software, probably worth the money still.

Got coda last night. Very nice piece of software. Think I will be using this for all my coding needs in the future.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
