Well I've been having issues.

The Sony eBook software has an OSX version - it sort of works with Snow Leopard. I can push free non-DRMed files to device but the problem comes for bought DRM eBooks (ePub format).

The Sony website has a PRS eBook OSX client that works with Tiger onwards. So first you need a Sony account to register your reader...

Next you need a Waterstones online account to buy the DRM'd eBook.. (LoR & The Hobbit)

The DRM system then uses Adobe Digital Elements (ADE) which, in typical Adobe style, reinvents the entire mac side client thus duplicating Sony's software.. but doesn't acknowledge the PRS device plugged in and so will not authorise it hence the DRM system doesn't work.

So.. I authorise the reader using the XP install on my gaming PC.. and retry but you guess it - failed authorisation yet again.. pile of pap!

So in short the Sony PRS-600 is does not work on Snow Leopard because of Adobe being retards (sorry, it's 2am and I'm loosing my patience after starting this fiasco yesterday evening).

I can see this will be a support headache with waterstones pointing at sony/adobe, sony pointing at adobe/waterstones and adobe pointing at sony/waterstones. I just want the "BOOM it works" experience.. I mean is it not too much to ask that the damn thing works?

Now if only Apple made an eBook reader..

should have got a Kindle - works great with PC and MAC and even without the need for a computer. iPhone sync is great too. ;)

But are you not tied to download via amazon with the kindle? I was told that you cant just copy over pdf files to it, butyou can with the sony. Though this may be pish.

Well the PRS-600 is the fastest renderer of PDFs. I have a couple of purchased 800 page PDFs manuals on there and to be honest it's not hot in handling them either (scaling etc).

I believe you can also move content between eBook compliant readers too. So you have the flexibility and not tied to a specific device, device vendor or bookstore; but I get what you're saying about the Kindle (all in one, I assume).

I was going to suggest, time permitting you go quiz what the genius dudes say....:p but they'll see the reader, sony label and say no.

Are you sure you cannot run the program under rosetta, or is that defunked now in SL?
