Apple Store account problem..

Right, since I had my iPhone 4 at 15 I used my dad's apple store account, however upon becoming 16 and gaining my own bank account I decided to make my own apple store account so I wouldn't have to ask every time I wanted to purchase something

- So I went about entering all the new details on the iPhone, however on the screen where you receive updates for apps it still prompts me for the password for my dads account, problem is it won't let me enter it "your account is disabled, tap reset to reset your account" can anyone help as I can no longer update any apps regardless of whether they where bought on mine or my dads account.

All help appreciated

Can you check by logging into iTunes store account, do they log in or not?

I can log into my new iTunes account no problem, issue it that on the updates screen its still prompting me for the password for my dads account and then asking me to reset, so no I can't get into my dad's account from the phone

I am assuming here that the apps that is needing updates was purchased on your dads account.

For your dads account are you putting the full email address in the username part? The problem is here is that Apple won't let you transfer any purchases made on your dads account to your account.

Yes - should I just delete the apps concerned and re download them, as they will then register under my account?

You will still have to pay for them if you re-download them under your account. Purchases made on one account cannot be transferred to another.

How annoying, fortunately I did not purchase many paid for apps anyway. Am now going through the process of deleting and re downloading every app -.-

It's one downfall that apps can't be transferred to other accounts. It's one thing Apple should allow.

Why though? People would just abuse the system, essentially encouraging piracy.

If the accounts belong to you and you no the password for the accounts and can match the address and certain details on the accounts why not.

Apps get pirated enough already using jailbreak as I have stated before it's one of the factors most people jailbreak.
