I went into meadhowhall today to go to apple store to buy a few things. I walked round the corner and saw it boarded off with a black board I though oh crike whats up... Looked on the note on the board it says it doing something we going to love and opens on the 31st Oct

The one at Meadowhall I think it been there for about 3 years... It prob is outdated not too sure but it looks like the one at Manchester...

Inside the apple store am sure it was white walls.. so the new version is steel ones then... I am wondering whether new machines are being release for the grand opening of the new look store?

It's just probably being redone to the current look (stores opened in the last two/three years) it might have been opened just before that look came in. It won't coincide with anything except by fluke, they're just doing them all at the moment. I think Bluewater closed recently for the same

I doubt that very much, they refit stores all the time and this one will be no exception, the retail refits will have very little if anything to do with product design.

To be honest your quite right there I have found some of them to be rude there...

Most of them point blank refuse to do things by the book and make stuff up.

They quoted me 14 days to change my Macbook keyboard - Apple Leicester did it in 20 minutes on the spot and laughed when I told them about Meadowhall.

They also told me the crackling on my iPhone was caused by dust, again Apple Leicester changed it straight away for a refurb.

I got the same Genius both times I've been to Meadowhall. First because of palmrest discolouration (keyboard replaced in 30mins), the second because of a non-scrolling Mighty Mouse (brand new replacement). Both times he was brilliant!

For the keyboard it could depend if they have the part in stock or not...

Brought my iPhone from the Meadowhall Apple store. It was fine but it is a very busy store. Much prefer the one in Exeter which I may be going to in a few days. A lot more space in my opinion. ;)
