Apple Store Stock Question

I'm getting sick and tired of phoning my local Apple store for a simple question to be answered. Spent half an hour on the phone the other day and then they didn't bother to pick up the phone when I got through the queue.

Phoned again there now and it would seem they're still not sure of how the phone works, despite no queue.

So, could anyone tell me if the physical Apple stores keep stock of i7 iMacs? I understand that different stores will have different stock levels but it will hopefully give me a good idea of what's going on. My local store is about 36 miles away in a busy city and I don't have the time for the answer to be "No."

I've contacted the online help but they're only willing to point me in the direction of the physical store for answers, which hasn't been fruitful. From what I gather Apple only do CTO (configure to order) machines on their online store but I'm guessing they (physical stores) don't have only one type of iMac in stock either.

One of my friends recently picked up an i7 iMac in-store so yes it is possible, though as far as I'm aware they only generally stock the standard models, I think he got lucky. Unfortunately I think the only way you can be 100% certain before driving all that way is to keep on ringing them, they'll pick up eventually.

I agree, Bullring store are awful at picking up the phone. This week I called for 35 minutes in the queue, no pickup, then again for 25 minutes in the evening before they picked up.

Last night I called at like 7.30 (store closes at 8), in the queue until 7.50, then it rang freely until I hung up at 8.
 
Eventually got through (about the 4th of 5th call today) and they do have i7 iMacs in stock. A lot of effort just to find that out but got there in the end...

It does make me laugh how they say there staff are best blah blah blah and when you ring them regarding a stock question and the answer you get back is I don't know hhmmmm
