Apple, to Purchase Windows

Although obviously an April Fools, why would Apple buy "Windows"? Windows isn't a thing. It's not a separate subsidiary or company component, it's a product. That's like saying "Apple to buy Mondeo" as opposed to what it should be "Apple to buy Ford", so please, OP, go and vanish back into the little April Fools hole that you appeared from, come back next year, and try much, much harder...

That kind of emphasises the point :), if Asda and Sainsburys couldn't merge despite another huge player in the market, there's no way Apple and Microsoft would be able to merge with literally zero competition.

Its a bit different in USA though, they just approve the mergers but force them to sell off bits to make it look good. Asset stripping on an industrial scale but thats the American dream right there :)
