Is it worth getting one or wait for a refresh? I do buy things through itunes, though I do have a laptop hooked up to the TV with itunes installed.

They're cheap enough to not worry about it too much. However, I would personally wait. The device is due an update, which probabbly isn't too far away now. It also sounds like your laptop is fulfilling the main use case you mentioned.

Great devices though, especially if your content lives in iTunes.

Personally, I would get one. As Turbo-G says, they are cheap enough. Any update, if indeed there is one, is unlikely to be significant.

I got rid of my Apple TV 2 and replaced with Apple TV 3's. Snappy, reliable, can airplay and you can also, with a bit of trickery on your mac, get them running Plex in 1080p, too.
