Hey all

I bought my first apple product yesterday - Apple Tv 2 - and I cannot get it to connect it to the internet D:

I'm on a uni connection where every device has to login through a web browser, just thinking at the moment that I could jail break it and put a browser on it to then register the device on the network before reverting back to the standard OS.

Any advice?

Surely if you haven't already, you put a NAT/firewall as 'your device' and then do what you like behind it...
 
I imagine that your uni requires each device to be registered?
There are two ways you can do this:
1. The way they would want you to do it : go and see the techies and get them to register it for you
2. Change the mac address of your atv to be the same as your computer (which presumably is already on the list of registered addresses )

I don't know if 2 is possible with an atv (with or without jail breaking) but those 2 are the general procedures for,connecting devices to the two university networks that I have experience of

Using a router and putting all of your devices behind that is possible, but might be a bad idea as some universities will ban you if they catch you.
