Apple Watch series 2 38mm screen replacement

As topic.

Moment of brilliance gardening near a wall resulted in my wife accidentally breaking the screen.

It still works, but all around the edge is cracked so not really sensible to keep using.

The Apple site seems to suggest you can’t jusst a screen replacement, and it’s a postal based swap out not far off the cost of a brand new watch.

Is this the case, or can I reliably find someone to swap it out?

It’s out of warranty so less worried about he impact there

Ah I had that happen to my S2 whilst I was in Paris. Clipped it on a wall and it cracked all around the edge and literally falls out. I still have it on my desk. No one will repair it as far as I know.

Luckily i got a S3 on my holiday insurance. Stupidly though I still didn't buy applecare.

Next time get a screen protector, mines a sort of stick on magnetic protector that the edge is identical in colour to the watch so blends in seamlessly and u don't notice its there, only about £10 for one
