Apple website price increase?

I noticed that last week the Apple TV was selling for £99 now it has gone upto £101. i assume this is due to the VAT increase. it is a shame that Apple could not swallow the rise in VAT.

Fair point..but most other electronic companies are swollowing the price increase and not passing it onto the customer. I thought Apple would have done the same.

They're a business. It's what business does.

It's not Apple's 'fault'.

Apple isn't a budget brand, people who buy their products KNOW its not the cheapest on the market, but they also know its a unique product so cost is a smaller factor.

I agree that Apple should have kept their prices the same but given their record I'm not surprised that they didn't.

All their price points are wrong now £101, £1122, £1838

I was considering a MacBook Air at £1099, but the rise to £1122 has made me reconsider. I know it's only £23 but it seems a lot more. That's why they price things at 49 or 99 after all.

Yeah, many don't concern about the cost when they are considering to buy an Apple device, but I think the increase should have some reason.
Does the Apple tv increase BCZ the update or remote HD let the AirPlay Comes to the AppleTV?

I think this is probably correct. New products will get xx9 prices and products like the Apple TV will go down to £99 again in due course.

I thought it was petty putting up the prices by a couple of quid on the lower end stuff but at the end of the day business is business and Apple are only interested in your money.

If the competition allows and you get the opportunity to jack up the prices and blame somebody else, you take it.

Theyre not jacking up the price, they're maintaining the price. The VAT increase is not supposed to cost businesses, it's supposed to cost consumers. Apple will be paying the extra vat when they buy stuff too

If a business swallows a VAT rise on behalf of their customers, they were overcharging to begin with

Besides, buying Apple gear is a kind of tax in it's own right...

A tax always falls on multiple parties. VAT is a tax on both suppliers and consumers, the way they share that burden depends on multiple factors.

Also note that income tax is a tax on both employers and employees.
