Hi guys,

I'm in the look out for a keyboard for Mac. There is 2 different product codes for the British format Apple Wireless keyboard:

MC184B/A and MC167B/A

what is the difference?

It seems like MC167B/A has been discontinued as Apple store only lists MC184B/A (3-4 week wait...). Plus my local high street retailer has a MC167B/A priced to clear.

Which product code did people get with there new iMac bought in the past month?

Thanks for looking

If they're both the new small wireless keyboard, I think the difference is just the amount of batteries it takes. The first version needs 3 and the newer model only needs 1.

yeah, i am talking about the small alu keyboard.

Wow only one AA battery?!?! I had no idea about that. I only read reviews about 167 written a few years back. Glad i did not buy the older one

I anyone confirm this?

Edit: Did a search, seems like MC184B/A needs 2 AA batteries and MC167B/A needs 3.

Also which ones are people getting with new iMacs?

My wife's new 21" iMac has a model number A1314 on the underneath. I couldn't see any of the codes you mention. It has two batteries. It is the wireless alu model.

The latest wireless keyboard has 2 AA batteries not one. MC184B/A is the one you want. They have them in apple stores and plenty of other places. :)

I went to apple store regents street this morning, and the newer does only need 2 batteries.

But none in stock. The next closes store is lakeside, I called up to make sure they had stock. They replied yes, so I trotted all the way to the otherwise of London! And guess what? The idiot only had the wired one.

Needless to say I am very ****ed off and girlfriend not at all pleased about this valentines day.
