Just been on the Apple store website to try and increase the warranty on my Iphone as i've had frequent issues with it over the last 10 months.

I added the item to my basket but for some reason it wants to add delivery on top. Surely its just a case of changing the date on my policy and nothing is actually needed to be posted?

They ship you a box with a number in it. You need that number.
Also, for the last couple of years, you may be asked to provide proof of purchase when you register AppleCare. You have to physically have the paperwork to show that and that's why they ship it to you.

I bought AppleCare a good few years ago on eBay for my Mac Pro and it registered perfectly but that was before they changed the rules.

Last week I bought it for an iPhone 4S on eBay for £50 including postage (nice saving there) and the vendor insisted on sending me the box and proof of purchase. It registered perfectly so you might consider that option as it's cheaper. The seller's eBay name is ap-direct. I have no connection with them apart from being a satisfied customer.

/edit - I see the price has now dropped to £49, bargain. Search for item number 261114324323

How old is your phone (still under warranty)? Because if it's having such issues, I'd be demanding a CRU replacement with AppleCare rather than forking out more money to the company causing the problems.

Also, if you bought it outright from Apple, I'd be using SOGA.

I think i got it around last October so its coming up to a year. I'm on my 5th phone now and just seem to keep getting niggly issues where they replace the phone but obviously that won't continue to happen.

Phone was on contract from 3.

When was the last replacement? You get 90 days warranty on a replacement. If it's cutting it really close, contact AppleCare, ask them to put you through to the Customer Relations team, and explain the situation and get them to send a CRU replacement out to you. Been through this process myself, it works. This will get you a brand new, boxed phone, with brand new warranty (well, now that the 4/4S are gone, you may get a different experience, but it's still worth doing).

Been through the process myself for the same reason - all of the warranty refurbished replacements phones were unacceptable.
