Applecare for iPhone

if it's working fine at the moment and you are thinking of changing it soon I would say no. However it it feels like it's on the blink and you are looking to keep it for a while then maybe yes.

I've done it on all my iPhones.... which probably means I'm an easy target for the bloke in the Apple Store :p.

On my 3GS I got it replaced (at 11 months old) for a new one because of a tiny crack by the dock connector. I know there's all the criticism about Apple's water detectors, but IMHO if they'll replace it for a tiny crack it sounds like a good warranty to me. The AppleCare from my original 3GS got transferred over to that replacement, so when I got my iPhone 4 I was selling a 1-month old 3GS with 12 months of warranty remaining! That got me far more £££ for it than I would have otherwise.

When buying my iPhone 4 I got the AppleCare again as I figured that either I'll still have it in 12 months time, or if I flog it I'd get more £££ with it having a warranty.

If I bought the applecare now and got a new iPhone device in June/July then could I transfer the AC over to the new device?

Nope.

But if you get your device replaced under warranty (be it the 12-months or extended AppleCare) you get the remaining time of the AppleCare you've purchased for the original device transferred over to the replacement device, rather than the 1-month IIRC warranty that the replacement would have otherwise.

So I would be left with 6 months of unused applecare and apple would want me to buy a new applecare for the new device?

Correct. However the 3GS you're selling/giving away/whatever still has 6-months AppleCare on it - so if you're selling it you should, in theory, get more £££ than one without any AppleCare on it.

For £40 I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Warranty increases the price of the phone from anywhere between £10 and £30 depending how long the warranty has left!

Where can you get applecare for iphone at £40?

From eBay?

Is Applecare worldwide coverage?, so could I buy a US copy of applecare and use it on my UK phone?

I'm just scouring around trying to find a cheap deal of Applecare for iPhone but not coming across too many good deals apart from CEX whihc is a great price, but just can't get to one. - especially one that has it in stock.

Any ideas guys?
