I have had my Macbook a year at the end of this month so the warranty will end. I've never had any problems with it, I've also upgraded the memory from 1GB to 2GB's and hard drive from 100GB to 160GB (not through apple).

Can anyone help me with the following questions

Is it worth buying Applecare, if so is ebay ok to buy it from as i can make a £70 saving?

Will the upgrades i've done affect applecare warranty?

Although i received my Macbook from Apple towards the end of september will they count the warranty from when it was ordered or shipped ?

Is there anyway through Apple website i can enter my serial number and find out exactly when my warranty started/ends?

Thanks guys

Thanks Guys

I tried the link for the serial number and it told me i have until the 29th of September. I'm going to get warranty just for peace of mind!

The ebay deal i found is £124 + £4 p&p He as lots of excelent feedback but he won't accept paypal because in his words "I no longer accept paypal on my listings, recent & growing experience show paypal to be a corrupt company" instead he accepts NOCHEX (which i have).

I need to buy applecare asap so what would you guys do, Save £72 and chance with the ebay deal or pay £200 (twice as much as much as my home contents insurance) and deal directly with Apple?

Just seems a stupidly high price for insurance when you can get similar cover for PC laptops for around £30 :(
