Depends. If your daughter might break it my mistake would rather pay for a brand new phone or just pay £8pm in insurance? It also covers theft which might be an issue at school.

Check the screen replacement cost, quote often a screen replacement makes it uneconomical to repair, which is where AC+ comes into its own.

My nephew went through 2 iPhone 13 Pro, thankfully with AC+

I personally stick with it as well. Things just get fixed, properly.

I think AC is excellent for iPhones and Watches, things that tend to travel with me - I don't bother so much with the iPad as it doesn't really leave the house.

This is a bit of a god send, my daughters 12 pro max dropped to 76% battery, and they replaced it no questions asked. Also she screwed up the screen and they replaced that too. Makes a 4 year old phone have more life. She's given the 12 Pro Max to her nan now and she has my wife's 13 pro max :P

Did you get it replaced at the same appointment by chance?

I only get AppleCare+ on my phone and that is because it could be lost or stolen easily. Companies must repair faulty goods under UK law so you don't need to pay for it.

Sure, but if you spill a drink on your £2k MacBook Pro, it won't be repaired under UK law. This is where AC+ excels. This exact same situation happened to me, and it cost me peanuts in comparison to have the whole innards replaced.

True. But don't other forms of insurance also cover this? I seem to recall contents insurance does on some plans if you have accidental damage cover.

Contents insurance does but AC+ allows you to walk into Apple Store (or an authorised reseller) and have it repaired minus excess fee. The last time I claimed for a damaged iPad on contents insurance I had to have 3 or 4 phone calls explaining what happened, then had to wait for it to be authorised, then paid a significantly higher excess, and I got a cheque in the end. Next year, my policy went up 20%.

I see. Thank you.

I noticed a blue mark on my iPad Pro screen last night around 8pm. Rebooted it and it's some kind of backlight bleed. Onto Apple Support via Messages as I have AC+ for it. 5 minutes later and a £1000 ish hold on my credit card confirmed, they arranged an express replacement where they post me a new one, and I pop my old one in a return box and send it in, at which point the hold will be removed. UPS tried to deliver the replacement this morning when I was on the nursery run. Impressive.
