It's quite the PITA to have to leave your web browser, go back to the homescreen and open your IM tool, or your twitter client, on a device with this size screen there is no good reason to not allow apps to run concurrently and overlay or have some screen sharing arrangement. Not really. I've never needed my iPhone (or my iPod Touch when I had one) to multi task. It's quick enough opening applications that multi tasking has never been a requirement.

Too easy ?, I think you'll find the opposite is the case
Both Sims and the sim contacts on a iphone would not stand up to be inserted / ejected several times a day.
If they did as you suggest every iphone out there would break when used this way, not good for apple

I want one. Mostly because I was going to buy a Kindle. eBooks especially in colour are going to be a real boon. Should be great for carrying round my D&D and WFRP rule books for gaming sessions (well if there is a way to convert PDF to ePub)
No flash. No big deal. I've had an iPhone since the 2G days and it hasn't been a problem. I get why Apple don't want it on there and I get why it annoys some people but it doesn't bother me...
No multitasking? Starting to get a bit silly but having experience with what happens with multi-tasking on Windows Mobile I'll wait until Apple solves that little problem. I'm sure by OS 4 it will be sorted.
Don't need a camera on an iPad but again I can see how it would annoy some people.
An eBook reader than plays movies, runs iPhone apps as well as dedicated apps, plays games with good graphics and frame rates, runs freakin' iWork? I'll buy it but not the overpriced 3G version. I'll get a Wifi one and a MiFi.
I think its just their excuse for not being able to deliver better battery life and/or hardware.Apple still has that "if we allow it to multitask there will be a program open somewhere in background draining battery and slowing down the experience" paranoia is just stupid.
It would be insult to injury that if you closed iBooks to do something it didnt remember what book/page you were on when you reopened the app...

Well having had the night to digest the iPad, I am stoked.
Not that that statement will shock anyone, but it's finally here.
How about we all shut up about it for a while though, the rumors and conjecture have been overwhelming!
I hope we don't have countless threads about it, so Feek & Justin get em' all merged haha.
Back to the iPad, naturally I'm eager to purchase one and of course it'll be the 64GB / 3G model!
Playing some of the iPhone games are going to be amazing on it.
