Application Install / Uninstall Failing

I have been finding recently that quite often applications will refuse to install or uninstall. This usually consists of installshield hanging when the process begins and then windows returning a "Another instance of this setup is already running" error if I attempt to restart the installer afterwards without starting windows.

Does anybody have any idea on what might be causing this - could it be my ocz agility drive or is it more likely a problem with windows itself?

SSD would be my first port of call with this kind of problem. Did you do a clean install or clone from a HDD? If it was a cloned install I would start from fresh and do a secure erase, then clean install. Might be worth making sure you have the latest firmware on the SSD also.
