Application Loses focus

When Im playing a DirectX game, not pressing any keys etc etc, sometimes the game will lose focus.

Its like someone has clicked on something else on my desktop.

When this occurs, it appears that the game is still in focus (its selected on the task bar) and clicking on it returns to the game

Any ideas?
 
it must be some windows app running in the system tray? try closing as many as you can before running any games.

i prefer to keep my systray clean even when not running games as most stuff there is completely useless and offers no functionality improvements over standard desktop/startmenu shortcuts..... :p
