Application not working?

Installed the new Aliens vs Predator game today on my Vista 64 bit system and everytime I try and run the Launcher or game installer exe it comes up with the following error:

Event viewer shows the following:

Get the same message when using the run as Admin command (I'm a local admin anyway).

Any ideas?

It looks like you're missing the MSVC++ 2008 runtime: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...34-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&displaylang=en

Although, the game should have installed that so perhaps the installation got interrupted and is incomplete?

Cheers, installed that download and still doing the same thing. Does the game need anything else installed as this is a newish Windows install and I don't have basic things like .net framework, java etc at the moment.

i'd certainly try and install the full .net package to see if that helps.

but as mentioned above, games normally include any extra files like this. odd how this doesn't??
