Just backing up stuff to install leopard and wondered why when i click the applications folder in my home folder there is nothing in there. But when i click the applications folder in the left tool bar in finder there are the applications that i have installed.

Should the applications come up in my home folder when i click applications?

How can i resolve this if it is wrong?

The main applications folder is in /Applications

I assume that the applications folder located at /Users/5bjoshua/Applications is intended for applications you do not wish to share with other users.

Im not sure, is there a way to link my apps folder with my home folder?

If i can link it or copy the apps in there then my .Mac backup program will backup the apps aswell, which is what i want.

I imagine the OS X GUI way to doing is it right click on the application. select make alias, then move the alias to your other applications folder.

See if .Mac follows the links.

Doing a backup now, gonna do a few apps, then do a few more to see if it updates more.
