Alright guys, i am planning my First Build Very soon, just need to know the Correct Way to Apply my AS5,

i have been to the Website and had a look at the AS5 Instructions

http://www.arcticsilver.com/pdf/appinstruct/as5/ins_as5_intel_quad_wcap.pdf

Which Says to apply a line and the Cpu Heatsink will spread it out like a pancake but i have seen many Videos on you tube that Spread it out with a Card or there Finger?

Which is the Correct and Best way to do this?

Thanks for any help!

As long as there's a thin layer and no extra tim around, there is no correct or bad way. Everyone has his own method.

I simply put a small pea sized amount of tim in the middle, and make sure that when I put the hsf on, I smear it around and apply some amount of pressure. That ensures that I won't get extra tim where the hsf doesn't touch and it should spread evenly out, especially when heat is applied.
