Applying for 2 Positions in the Same Company?

I've seen 2 jobs both with the same company. Should I combine my cover letter to apply for both jobs or create 2 separate applications?
The jobs are very different; 1 is something I already do and the other has a lot of elements that I've plenty of experience in. Any advice would be great

I wouldn't apply to both since that sends a message that you don't know what you want.

If the company is small enough where you could conceive that applications for both roles pass across the same desk then I would apply for the job you want to grow into and hope that if you get knocked back from it they realise that you'd be a good fit for job #1.

Depends if they are entry level or not. If they aren't, as above.
