Has anyone got any CV advice for applying for an internal role? What things should I and shouldn't I include?

My CV atm the is just the same as when I applied for my current job 10 months ago.

I don't see why your CV should be any different compared to applying for an external role. Your cover letter might be as you can be more specific about things within your company that another internal person would be familiar with.

Just beware, it can often be easier to apply for external roles, internal roles often require multiple people from your current and new dept to sign off, you're also more likely to get screwed on pay and just recieved a token rise whereas you'll tend to have a better negotiating position with an external company.

I would potentially tailor a CV for an internal role, but no more so than for an external role. So for example there might be skills/experience that I know are of particular relevance to my employer that normally I might exclude when applying to an external organisation (e.g. proprietary software or similar that isn't widely used elsewhere).

As above, when i applied for an internal role within my company - well officially the same role, but a change from contractor to main employer. I tailored all the requirements from the job spec to what my CV now describes - simply making me look like the perfect candidate, but the circumstances seem rather silly. I was already doing the job so if i couldn't match the requirements perfectly then there was obviously something wrong.
