I'm thinking of applying for a loan for a car.

I'm married but I think my credit rating is better than my wife's.

She has a few store accounts and 1 more CC so is using more credit even though they are mostly clear.

Can I apply just in my name and only put out going as stuff in my name?

Or do I have to put the 'households' out goings and incomes?

I only have 1 cc in my name but most of the bills are joint with the last few just me( things like Virgin and sky). She has a few separate DDs too.

Thanks

I'm sure that's completely dependent on what the lender wants to know.

+1, talk to the lender and see how it goes. Generally speaking, they want to loan you money so you can pay them that sweet, sweet interest. Unless you are a useless wastrel who doesn't pay their debts, of course.

just to hijack this, my credit report is ok, but i have been rejected credit (last time was over a year ago) is there anyway to run a check with a company without buying goods to see if they would give you credit?

Not unless they offer a pre eligibility test which would give you a good idea of whether it would be a yes or no but not many places do them.
