Applying thermal paste (Zalman 9700)

Isnt there anyone here with experience on Zalman thermal paste?

Yup iv used it before, i did follow there guide how to apply, one thin layer on cpu, one thin layer on cooler, by thin i mean really thin, had absolutly no issues at all.

Or alternativly u can just apply it to the cpu only, iv done it both ways and both ways work the same way, i used it at the time to try it out and thought cool u get a brush to apply it lol.

Personally id just add it to the cpu only, as thats more then enough, but if u want peice of mind, do how zalman suggest.

I personally put a dot in the centre and then use an object like a credit card to create a smooth flat layer - just on the CPU.

Thanks for the tips guys, the cooler is now installed .
Removed the old paste with some aftershave (works a charm!)
Applied a thin layer of thermal grease on BOTH the HSF and the CPU, turns out it wasnt overkill.

Temps:
Idle: 30-37C
Load: 45-50C
