My AS5 should arrive tomorrow and I want to ask if their is an actual "best way" to apply it to the intel C2D chips
Normally I spread it thinly over the chip and HS... is this correct?

From what I've read, pulling cling film over your finger and spreading it thinly over the chip is the best way. Evenly too.

Yip it's correct.

You can do a test run and see how well it spreads out over the center of the CPU.

Make sure you dont put too much on. It can turn out to be a bad move.

With C2D's, I put a small blob in the center of the core then place the heatsink ontop.

With the pressure from the heatsink clamped down on the cpu it would evenly spread the thermal compound over the core.

Its the way Ive always found is best over the years.
