Applying TIM on a new Ryzen 3700X

Hi all, is it still a pea size blob of TIM in the middle of the CPU or crossways X ? Or anything else?

Did the same last month

following some youtube build guide. The cooler (scythe mugen) seems to take care of spreading the thermal paste as you secure it to the bracket attached to the motherboard.

for some reason the guide said you need to apply slightly more paste (bigger pea) to an amd cpu than an intel cpu? don't know why.

When I do my Dell enterprise thingy I always put a swirl of paste onto the CPU because i’m told to by Dell.

the cores, or at least one of the two core groups are not in the middle and more to the edge.

I put a larger than usual blob in the middle and a couple of small blobs at each corner and get 33deg idle on my 3700X using a Noctua NH-u12a
