Been with my gf 6 months now and were really close, she isnt a size 10 supermodel she's a 16 - 18
Been on holiday with her last week and became concerned with what she was eating - basically chips with everything and loads of mayo
Ive told her before about the mayo and how unhealthy it is but she just says she likes it etc.
She works in a care home doing shifts and a lot of the time finishes work at 8pm so when she gets home she just pigs out of has "fast food"
I love her to bits but really dont know how to approach her and basically say id like her to eat more healthy and lose a bit of weight.
first of all size 10 is obese for a supermodel btw, supermodels will be size 4's or thereabouts, the average fit woman would be around a size 8-12, so 14 is getting into the overweight category. i would say a size 6 is slightly underweight and a 4 is extremely underweight, just to give you a comparison. size 8-12 is what you would call normal and a 10 is nowhere near supermodel.
obviously the frame of the person will dictate their size some too so the above is a "rough" measurement and the bigger frames will be closer to a 12 and smaller frames closer to an 8. an average frame a 10, therefore someone with a small frame could be deemed overweight in a size 12.
if your gf is 16-18 that is obese in my books, you could do a rough BMI test to confirm that or a proper bodyfat test from a specialist if you want an accurate figure.
second of all mayo is not unhealthy.
i suggest you actually read up on nutrition from a bodybuilding perspective as they are the ones who are usually correct rather than from a doctor's perspective as they are usually wrong.
i bet you also think butter is unhealthy? well it isn't, it's actually a hell of a lot healthier than most margerines.
at the end of the day though it will be down to calories, she is eating far too many. easting the right foods should make her eat less calories as junk food is usually too calorific in terms of how filling it is.
you could also both start going to the gym together, or running, cycling, swimming, etc.
or even go for walks, anything to up her activity, as well as the diet side of things.
