Approx. Value - VW Bora

One of my tasks over the next few weeks is to sell my recently decesed fathers car.
I have my own car which is smaller and newer - Ideal for me and my wife.
My brother doesn't drive, has decided he will go back to it but my dads car would just be to much.
My mum simply doesn't drive.
I know this kind of question is akin to "How long is a piece of string" but I'm so out of touch with regards the value of second hand cars any starting place would be good.

24-10-01 (51 Plate)

British Racing Green (or close)
87,371 Miles
Tax until end August 2007
MOT until 18th October 2007

There were 3 advisories with regards his last MOT in October 2006

1. Front (both) brake disc slightly worn [3.5.1h]
2. Rear (both) brake disc slightly worn [3.5.1h]
3. Nearside front bumper is scuffed

Generally speaking it's in good condition.
A good wash on the outside, a run around with the hoover and a good air freshener will take place before any kind of selling.
I was really look for values for a vehicle as above at A1, good, average & fair conditions as from that I can work out where we should start.
Other than the scuffed bumper I'd say we were looking at "Good".

I usually find checking out prices in Autotrader is a better guide than Parkers etc.

This would tend to suggest a value somewhere between £3500 and £5000 depending on exact spec (what engine, 90, 100, 110, 115 or 130ps?) and bearing in mind the slightly higher than average mileage. Fixing the bumper would certainly improve it's value if the rest of the car is in good condition.
