I recently purchased 2 these:

I was slightly disappointed to discover that it consists of:

Which is a black plastic collar around a restrictive metal (possibly brass) fitting with one of the standard temperature sensors wrapped around it.

I could have wrapped one of these sensors around a fitting myself...

They are useless! Cause more problems than good. The black ring just pops off unless you have a filling holding it in place but even then the sensor is easy to knock out.
Trying to re sit the sensor is very fiddly. Requires removing the fitting then once you have re sat it it will likely fall out/off again when your re fitting it.

Not very Aquacomputer at all.

No, not very AquaComputer. I've been super impressed with all the other AquaComputer components I've owned over the years, which is why I felt I should educate people on these, they don't really seem up to the aquacomputer spec.

I think that for the other 2 sensors I require I will be using just the standard sensors held in place with something.

Thats awful. I got 4 temp sensor leads with my fan controller that cost less than you paid for two. If that was all they were going to do, you may as well tape them to the pipes!

They also seem pretty restrictive, the tube looks pretty thin compared to the other fittings I have.

I'm tempted to test them against using the temp sensor on a different fitting attached with Kapton tape and see what the temp difference is.

I have a Phobya one, it seems much more sturdy, made of copper and has a proper metal sleeve, compared to what seems to be a plastic one.

Edit: Taken a look at my one, still a plastic sleeve :<
