Hey guys,

First and foremostly im an absolute idiot, ive been going back and forth to this piece of tech for around a year now and not getting any closer to figuring out why the hell I can't get anything to function properly on it or even for it to monitor things.

THEN

I realised I hadn't actually plugged the internal USB cable into my PC. So yea its had power and the fans but its been unable to communicate with my PC for the obvious (now at least) reason.

Anyway im looking into putting the USB cable in and ive managed to find the relevant slot on the aquaero but im unable to find the slot I need on my motherboard. Would any of you fine people be able to tell me where exactly I need to plop this cable?

Thanks! :)

it just plops into an internal USB port mate. You'll have a connector going from your case to your motherboard for the external USB ports. Make sure the coloured cables on the plug correspond the same and simply 'plop and play :)

The USB cable I have requires a 5 pin connection yet I can't seem to find anything with 5 pins on it for a USB cable.

That because the usb headers on all motherboards support 2 x usb ports on one header.
Find the header with 9 pins in it and connect the ae5 usb cable to the top row of 5 pins.

Your motherboard will have some usb headers, which is what you need. These are quite small sockets with pins usually found along the left hand side of the board. Sometimes it's just pins. Have a look in your motherboard manual for them.

It would seem like the two internal USB sockets are being used up for my external USB slots. Is there any way of getting more? (splitters and whatnot)

Thanks again!

Just to add, I have 2 USB 3.0 internal slots free, is there any sort of adapter that I can buy that will change them to a 2.0?

Cheers! :)

Something like this:

Or to one of your exterior USB ports:

Thank you gentleman!

Perhaps once I can get the software talking to the hardware it wont cap off certain fans to ridiculous rpm values... I have 1 fan currently only hitting 700 no matter what I set the fan to do... Annoying!

And of course happy new years! :D

Which fan connector is it using on you Aquaero?

Not sure exactly which (ill re-arrange everything when I get the correct splitters I want) but I have worked out that by setting it to power by PWM mode on that particular fan it will at least get to 2200 rpm, thus dropping my temps by a few degrees. Soon to add another 2 fans to the rad (to make up the 6, again once I have the splitter cables) which will hopefully help further.

Im aiming to have 2 sets of 3 fans for my 360 rad and I may do a third set of 2 for my 120 rad. That would leave 1 space free on the aquaero which I may either set to my general intake fan.
