Getting a couple of new showers installed and have decided to go for digital.

I had a guy round to quote this morning and he suggested the brand Aqualisa. Any of you guys have any experience with this manufacturer, would you recommend them? Is there an alternative that I should look at.Are they worth the cost?

Cheers

Read lots of positive things about them. The cost is something you would have to justify yourself but by all accounts they are quality.

I have a pumped Aqualisa digital shower and it's the best thing about my bathroom.

Digital box that is essentially a pump and thermostat that sits in the loft, draws water from my hot water tank and my CWS tank, blends them and pumps the lot at decent pressure out of the shower head. Very easy to install too, it was almost all done in the loft and dropped down through the ceiling to the shower head so no hacking off tiles or anything like that.

Excellent sounds promising then. We are also looking at the pumped model. The current pump we have is very loud and everyone in the house knows when the shower is running!

How loud is the pump on your Aqualisa digital shower when running?

I have one as well and they are great. I replaced an electric one when I got the house, so I didn't need to run a second pipe as it's all connected to the black box which does all the mixing etc.

Mine just sits in the attic on some chipboard and foam and I can't hear it at all. But this sits on top of two layers of rockwool as well, so this will depend on your setup, but generally they shouldn't be loud. Just don't go screwing it into the main joists or something silly!

If you are using a hot water tank just bear in mind you may empty it rather quickly if you hang around to long and someone is coming in behind you. Depends on the size of your tank of course.

I went with this one.

I didn't pay 700 + for it mind you.

Sounds the same as hours - they are excellent. Flashing blue light until it is up to temperature is a nice touch. Touch wood - had this for 6 years now and it's been faultless. Highly recommended.

Absolutely.

Brilliant, ours is 7 years old and has been used minimum twice a day, not one problem, tell a lie the head kept seizing up you couldn't adjust the spray, Aqualisa just sent us out a new one no questions.

If you have a plumber installing it, it will take less time to install than say a traditional pumped shower.

Brilliant all very positive which is encouraging.

One thing I notice is that on the Mira ones you have a digital read out of the temperature on the control panel the Aqualisa doesn't seem to have this, do you just set the temperatures by turning the dial to your prefered temp? Seems like a nice to have as you will always remember your prefered temp.

Depends on the model I think. Check their site.

I checked there and for the one I got I paid 400 vat and all.

It's difficult to know exactly how loud it is because the extractor fan comes on at the same time.
It's significantly quieter than my kitchen extractor hood fan put it that way.

Next door have a conventionally pumped shower and I can hear that louder through my walls than I can my Aqualisa in the loft!

Make sure you get the correct model as they all come in pumped vs non pumped and also some are designed for the water to come down through the ceiling and some come through the wall so choose carefully.

I bought mine virtually unused on ebay for £170 which was a huge bargain.

Ended up going for the Aqualisa Visage with overhead drencher and separate head. First impressions are very good, nice and powerful and temps adjust well. Also a lot quieter than the previous shower with a separate pump. Cheers guys
