Araneus diadematus (apparently)

Snapped this outside my friends house, it was building up a nice web in a bush in his front garden. Apparently its a very popular kind of spider but it was entirely too freaky looking for me

I know the clarity isn't great but thats a 100% scale as it was just cropped down. Not bad for an A85 i think

Yeah weird looking things! I had one run across my feet indoors a few years back and thought holy **** what was that so caught it and took a few snaps. Here's one i took of the beast, i've seen loads around since but hadn't seen one before

Nice shot, god that spider looks bloody creepy! The only thing i would have done would be to up the saturation a little bit in PhotoShop.

Just a fuji finepix 40i point and shoot jobby, was a cracking little camera when they came out. Macro mode was amazing!
