Arbitrary upgrade time?

Hi guys,

I've got a self-built gaming PC i've used since its inception back in 2013 and i've done various incremental upgrades over the time, but I feel like it could still pack a punch with a few more.

This is what i've got currently:

Intel i5 4670k (not overclocked )
Gigabyte Z87-D3HP-CF
Kingston HyperX Blu 16GB 1600mhz
MSI GTX970
250GB Samsung EVO 840 SSD
Couple of 2TB HDDs
Samsung 1440p ultrawide


I mean, it works well but I always feel like I can make it a little better with an upgrade here or there. Any thoughts?

Plus, my case is horrible. It can't be too big because it's got to fit in a space that isn't that big. Probably a midi case rather than a full one.

Budget isn't a massive issue. I'd just like to see what people would recommend

I see nothing wrong with your setup .. how about wait for Pascal and upgrade GPU?

I concur with this, wait for Pascal and upgrade GPU.

Maybe get a new SSD for storing your games on?

thanks for the replies guys also nice to see that people don't think that spec is a mess or anything!

always tempted to go big, but if a wait for pascal and a long-needed overclock will help maybe i'll do that.

thanks for the case recommendations as well. very much liking the look of the fractal ones.
