Good luck with your project and keep us updated m8..............

Too awesome for words!!!

Spent a few hours today in a grotty old school Arcade in London playing various classic beat-em ups so that and this makes me feel a bit nostalgic!!

Your machine is better than most of the machines in that Arcade!! (Apart from the Newish SF4 cabinet they had :) ).

Thanks m8 it was really fun making this cabinet, challenging at times but worth it in the end :) the cost was around £250ish m8, i already had the pc and monitor so was just prices for material and glass plus the arcade buttons but used the workings from my x-arcade joystick for that ;) hope to see your efforts soon m8 and remember you can make it any shape/size you like thats what makes it fun, your own ideas for your set-up and pc........... hope you stick with this m8 be interested with what you come up with, al help you if a can m8 ;).....................

what systems are you going to emulate? mid range stuff would do up to Dreamcast/PS2 which is probably more than enough.
.

PS2 emulators typically recommend a 4Ghz dual core processor, not exactly mid range. ;)

I couldn't run Persona 4 via emulation without the FPS dropping rather often with a dual core at 3.2Ghz, still some games can be sped up via speed hacks but it results in glitchy drawbacks for a lot of games.

Here's my arcade cabinet which a friend built for me. Its got pretty much all the mame stuff on.

Its only a 1.8 p4 with 512 of ram and a 19"tft but plays everything perfect!

Even if it did not play many games, you probably have my most played MAME game, ever on screen :)
