I need to get the arches rolled/flared on the S2K. Im asking here because its the widest car oriented audience that might have first hand knowledge of the process.

The reason being is im planning on running 255 tyres with 8.5 or 9" rims all round. This is the cheaper option before carbon wings and fender extensions get involved!

I can hire an arch rolling machine/tool locally no problem, but ive not done it before and dont fancy destroying my nice shiny white paint; not least before on the track again :p

So, has anyone had it done? or if youve done it yourself (last option) was it easy?

thanks

Why would you do that to a nice car?

I could understand rolling the arches on some POS like a clio or fiesta or some other chavchariot, but an S2K is almost a classic!

Because he wants to fit larger wheels on it?

His S2K is hardly a stock, unmolested example either.

Ahh lol, fair enough if its a track machine!

All the "rules" go out of the window then, when your after the last drop of performance.

So a white race spec S2k ? Any pics?

Sounds interesting for sure.

What do they do? Bend you arches out a bit?

Sort of, as far as i can see a special tool is bolted onto the wheel and it then has a roller that pushes out the inside of the arch, thus giving slightly more room for wider wheels/tyres.

makes bandages berger? all i see is empty old industrial units!!

Ive got one of the lads from buddyclub coming down with an arch roller set (proper job) early next week, so will post pics of how it goes. quite nervous actually, as i still dont have the paintcode for the pearlescent paint its been sprayed in and dont fancy cracking anything :(

I used Banded Steels for rolling my arches. He did a group session to members of the SXOC at a unit in Chorley. Did a number of 200s, a Scooby and a Skyline whilst I was there.

Made a fantastic job of my 200 and only cost £60 IIRC. Great guy, you should give him a call :)

Edit - the fella was called Kris I think.
