Just wondering if anyone has a Archon and a CoolerMaster 690 ii case if they could post pictures to let me know much much room there is between the top of the archon and the roof of the case.

I have an 1155 Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4 with two internal roof fans in my case. Im needing to know if I'll need to take them out should I get an Archon.

I got the big Noctua nh-d14 in my CoolerMaster 690 ii Advance case with the big fan at the top if that helps but have you considered the Thermalright Silver Arrow.

It fits in a HAF 922 just fine, do your top fans stick out over the motherboard?
If they do it won't fit.
The Archon reaches the very side of my Asus P8Z68-V-Pro.

Nah, I have about an inch or so of space between the top of the motherboard and the fans.

Dimension for your case are (W) 213 x (H) 482 x (D) 525 mm

Dimension for my case Fractal Design Define XL are (W)232x(H)560x(D)561.3mm

Heatsink Specifications for the Archon cooler are without fan:-
Dimension: Length 155mm x Width 53mm x Height 170mm

So you should have about 30mm clearance from the side panel. The Fan that comes with it only just pokes above the 170mm height. Also I don't think you will have any problems with the top fans in the case as you will see from my setup with a large 180mm fan there at an angle. The cooler only just goes over the edge of the motherboard when installed.

Check for yourself.

I have one in my case here as you will see but im using 2 akasa apache viper fans 120mm.

and have lots of room for it and very clear off the side panel..

Also if you decide to add an extra fan to it of the same type, for some push/pull cooling as I have done :-

I have a new Thermalright TY-140mm Silent PWN Fan (Fits 120mm fittings) Brand new never used Selling for £10 this includes P&P 1st class post with proof of postage on the members market mate if you need one they are very hard to find at the moment and seem to be out of stock everywhere.

pwm fan, provides simple and easy adjustment of fan speed with the latest etc ic. seven silent torpedo blades - “submerges”, gives most quiet and efficient airflow. enhanced hyper-flow bearing (ehfb) - to ensure consistent and stable rpm, prolonged lifetime of usage. aerodynamic body–less friction around the edges and give more centered and concentrated airflow. 12 cm mounting hole–allows installation on the 12 cm dimension, so will be compatible with most coolers without having the need to buy extra kit for 14cm fan.

- fan dimensions : l160mm x h140mm x w26.5mm
- fan weight : 140g
- fan speed : 900~1300rpm (pwm)
- sound level : 17~21dba
- airflow : 28.3~74cfm
- mtbf of 100,000 hours

Unrelated, but if you turn your power supply upside down, it'll be neater :D

I'm guessing he has it that way up to suck out some heat from inside the case, instead of it taking cool air from under the case and cooling itself. It's okay anyway round really and yes cable management would help ;):p. I would personally keep it that way up with that case and just tidy up the cables. Cable ties mate ;) and route some/if not all of the PSU cables behind the motherboard tray and that way they will be hidden under the side panel.

Why? The CM 690 has cable management holes at the back of the case, so if it gets turned round, all the cables can be hidden at the back... would be so much neater...

I would have to agree by turning it around the cables are closer to the cable management cut outs in the case and so should make it easier to make the case a little neater.

The CM 690 has a dust filter for the PSU area so it should suck clean cool air in from under the case and keep it cooler, rather than sucking in hot air from within case :)
