Archos 101

Has anyone got any experience with these?

I'm looking for a tablet of some form for light internet use, and maybe the odd film. Are these any good?

Reviews are positive, and with Android 2.2 you get flash 10.1, which means Iplayer and the like should work. Has anyone done this?

Any other suggestions? I have a laptop which I use for gaming and internet, but a tablet I can just pick up and browse without having to lug around a heavy, hot laptop with a psu attached would be brilliant.

I have had a few Archos devices over the years (604 Wifi, 605 Wifi and most recently the A5A 160GB) and they have all been excellent devices with, importantly, a really good community over at ArchosFans

I have not actually used one of these tablets, but - on the strength of previous devices - suspect it will be one of the true contenders out on the market

It just looks ideal, I'm not sure how limited the app store is tho, how do you find it?

And it's only £233 before VAT for the 16GB version, that's not bad.

I don't actually have one......
But, if you look over on the forums I mention, you will see that there is already a method (simple !) to get the full Google Marketplace up and running on the device

There are some really clever peeps over there; much the same happened with the A5A - came with Archos App Store and no Google Marketplace to begin with, but methods quickly surface on how to easily get the full Google experience
