Arcserve 12 missed job query

Is there any way of telling arcserve to skip a job if the tape isnt inserted within say, 12 hours.
One of our offices was closed thursday, friday and when a guy came in yesterday and put mondays tape in, thursdays job started and this morning when he put tuesdays tape in, fridays or yesterdays job kicked off. I want to set the software in a way that should mean this doesnt happen again as we do need to restore files occasionally and we need to know which tape held a specific version of a file.

just get your tape changer to cancel the jobs till it comes to the correct day next time a little training goes a long way and may prevent future disasters :-)

My tape changer has flagged this as an issue! I dont fancy giving the admin password out too much. Any other suggestions would be ace!

Cant you setup media sets with named media like Backup Exec? That way the job will only run if the correct tape is in the drive and then you can add a timeout value to each job?

Haven't used Arcserve since Netware 3.12 days but I would have assumed this type of functionality would be built in to all but the nastiest backup software.

ahhh, good man, Im a backupexec man historically and arcserve is the suite of choice in my current job, Ive previously done the 11-12 upgrade myself and everything was fine but when it comes to management, I am still picking new bits up.
