Hi Guys,

I'm sure this has been covered before, I tried to perfom some searches but I couldn't come up with anything that fitted my query.

I have the AC 64 Pro and a DFI SLI-D mobo. I wanted to sort out the case flow in the PC and wanted to change the orientation of the cooler so that the cooler's fan is parallel to the rear case and the front fan. At the moment, the AC is 90 degrees adjacent the the front and rear fans (I'll try and get some pics up later if it helps clarify things) and I believe the air flow isn't as efficient as it could be.

I've looked at the instructions that came with the AC for help but I couldn't find anything that could help me with changing the orientation so that the AC is in line with the case fans (front and rear).

The DFI HSF mobo mounting clip/base seems fixed to the mobo (arbeit with screws) with no option of removing them and rotating that mounting clip 90 degrees because there are no additional holes to achieve this.

If there is a way to straighten this situation out then I'd be more than happy to hear from you :)

Thanks in advance,

D

The instruction leaflet that comes with the Arctic Freezer isn't as clear as it could be. Here's what to do:

1) Take a good look at the existing clip arrangement on your freezer. Note which bit slots into where 'cos you'll need to put it back together the same way after rotation!

2) Undo the screw that holds the locking arm onto the cooler. Take the arm off, also take off the little side plate

3) Slide the curved clip base off the cooler body, swing it around 90 deg and slide it back on

4) Re-assemble (put the plate back on, re-attach the locking arm)

Note#1: the fan is set to blow - it pushes air thru the cooling fins - so the fan represents the "in" side of the cooler

Note#2: as well as rotating the cooler, you can also swap the locking arm from one side to the other - great if you want to keep the arm on the side with the most free space.
