arctic cooler 64pro users

hey guys, any users of the above HSF?

The copper base dont seem to be smooth and shiny, do u guys sand it till its smooth and shiny?
if yes, anyone can guide me on that?
would like to bring my temp down a 2-5 degrees as i feel its abit on the high side when my room is not on air-conditional

Load 50+ degrees..

Temps seem about right for the cpu you have,

I wouldn't bother messing with it to be honest.

oh okie, hmm btw the oritentation of the fins+fan can be changed right? as now currently the fan is blowing from the bottom to the up, would like to change it to blow from inside of the casing towards the 120mm fan at the back..

mine keeps my opteron 144 @ 3ghz under 45degrees at full load, very good cooler IMO

It should be oriented like that anyway

The fan is supposed to suck cooler air from inside the case and blow it through the heatsink fins and towards an exhaust. Your temps should drop abit if you swap it round the other way.

Got my 4000+ under one and its doing 3.1Ghz @ 1.5v with about 50 degrees C at load

As far as I can remember, you have to take the bracket bit off the cooler and put it on the other way around. Check this link out (you need Acrobat Reader) - http://www.arctic-cooling.com/downloads/installation/install_freezer64_pro.pdf

Exactly as it should be and how i fitted the one i got out of M&M a few days ago. Perfect set up the fan draws air through the fins which are fed by two front case fans 80's. The Freezer fan draws this air through the fins and passes it to my 120 on the back of my case which exhausts it out the back.
For me this is the best complete Air cooling set up i have ever had.

IIRC The DFi Lanparty mobo makes it impossible to set the Cooler up properly :eek:

there speaks the truth - tis a bugger that the bracket is on the wrong way on the DFI boards!

......not all lan party boards.....i have a DFI RDX200 and it is oriented the correct way for the arctic 64

What chip you got and what are your idle & load temps out of interest? My x2 3800 is @ 2.1GHz and idles at 29C, load 37C usually =)
