Im getting coretemp measured temps of 48/47 idle and 60/60 under Orthos load with my [email protected] (1.4 VCore) and with an Arctic Freezer 7 cooler.

I am running the freezer at full whack ~3000rpm to get these values.

First of all do you reckon these temps are generally ok ? I do not run my rig 24/7 and only real use it for gaming !

I have also remounted my Freezer today with a thin line of AS5. I have noticied that whilst the pushpins all went in really well this time (i think i have finally got the knack of them!) the actual heatsink can fairly easily be twisted/rotated ontop of the E6300's IHS. Is this normal ? (the pushpins are all correctly locked down and the actual fitting itself is fine)

It's still safe, it's reaching it's limits though, don't go above 65 ish...

ps. I've fitted mine on over 5 cpu's & boards, all rotated a little bit, all depends on what thermal compound there is, with as5 it moves...

Thanks guys.

Well i'm not sure about the mounting of the AC7 but judging by the temps I am getting it seems to be ok.

I would imagine I am not going to have this E6300 for much longer anyway, what with the price cuts coming in July for the Q6600 ! So I don't know what I am really worrying about !

It's addictive though all this overclocking. I never understood the attraction of water cooling before, I thought you must be mad to ever consider the idea. Guess what I have been thinking about doing for the last few days lol !! :)

Thanks snowdog, that's put my mind at rest.
It did say in the Arctic Silver instructions to try and 'rotate/twist' the heatsink when pushed down on the IHS to flatten the AS5, but I didn't actually expect the AC7 to move, and was a bit shocked when I tried !
